September 24, 2017 by Scott Claybrook
Passages:Acts 2:42-43, 1 Cor 15:3-4, 2 Cor 4:6, Mark 1:14-15

Sermon Synopsis

Our first Family Covenant gathering (1 of 3). These three gatherings – Gospel (9/24), Family (10/22), and Mission (11/12) – are our way of knitting our hearts to the clarity of what it means to follow Jesus, embrace the Gospel, and to walk the vision the Lord has given our local church. The pastors are asking all to attend who would like to join the family in a “formal” way.

Acts 2:42-43

42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.

1 Corinthians 15:3-4

For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,

2 Corinthians 4:6

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Mark 1:14-15

14 Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”
